Champaign, IL -

Maroa Forsyth High School defeated Stockton High School 48-24 to end their 13-1 season with a IHSA Class 1A State Championship. The Trojans lead at the half 20-0 but found themselves behind 24-20 at the end of the third quarter. 30 mph wind gusts and some defensive errors against Stocktons wishbone offense were contributing factors.

However, in the 4th quarter it was business as usual for the young Trojan squad lead by sophomore Jack Hockaday with 24 unanswered points. The IHSA named Jack Hockaday as the game MVP who had 4 rushing touchdowns on the day.
